Chevron Fellow and Senior Technical Advisor for Climate Change Arthur Lee interviewed MIT Joint Program Deputy Director Sergey Paltsev at the COP25 climate negotiations in Madrid.

Paltsev describes integrated assessment modeling, which is used to project future environmental and economic impacts of climate change under different policy scenarios; the role of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) in enabling the world to keep global warming well below 2 degrees Celsius (and ideally below 1.5 C); and how insights gleaned from attending COP25 can inform MIT Joint Program research.

Chevron is a sponsor of the Joint Program. Chevron, which publicly supports the Paris Agreement, is "committed to addressing the risks of climate change while continuing to deliver the energy that benefits societies."
