Bio

Dr. Bredin is Professor of Finance at the UCD Graduate School of Business and Head of the Banking and Finance Subject Area. He has previously worked at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Ireland, City University, London and University of Newcastle, UK. He undertook his PhD in Economics at the University of Newcastle. His main research interests are in commodity finance, energy economics and environmental finance. Recent research has been published in Journal of Banking and Finance, The Energy Journal and Energy Economics. Dr. Bredin currently lectures Markets & the Environment and Commodity Finance on the MSc in Energy and Environmental Finance. He spent the 2012-13 academic year as a Visiting Professor and Fulbright Scholar at the Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
