Research Interests:
Dr. Friedman is working with Prof. Noelle Selin on modeling of atmospheric chemistry and organic pollutants and the implications for human health. Her work involves simulating long-range atmospheric transport of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) using the GEOS-Chem chemical transport model. She is interested in how transport of POPs to Arctic regions will change with a changing global climate. Carey's long term research goals are to integrate model-based pollutant transport/behavior predictions with targeted environmental measurements to better assess environmental health risks.
