July 07, 2020,
10:00am - 11:30am

Featuring a presentation by Joint Program Deputy Director Sergey Paltsev on scaling up low-carbon energy.

The energy sector is facing unprecedented challenges, with the global Covid-19 pandemic complicating an already challenging transition toward a low-carbon future. One of the key elements in addressing both the current pandemic and climate change is with forward-looking collaborations in technology development and innovation—which have long been a hallmark of MIT’s approach to problem solving.

This spring, MIT's Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) and Energy Initiative (MITEI) have presented a special webinar series with leading researchers and experts in the energy domain sharing their insights on important themes. The final webinar in the series, “Scaling up low-carbon energy: Economic, geopolitical, and environmental impacts,” will take place online on July 7. This webinar will feature a presentation by MIT Joint Program Deputy Director Sergey Paltsev on scaling up low-carbon energy, and closing remarks by Joint Program Founding Co-Director Emeritus Henry Jacoby.

Please join us in this webinar to hear and discuss with the experts so together we will be able to better navigate these difficult times for a successful transition to a sustainable energy future after the current crisis.
