As Assistant Director of both the Center for Global Change Science and its daughter entity, the MIT Global Change Program, Ms. Slinn oversees sustaining fundamental research, maintaining the support and focus of applied research, and synthesizing scientific description. Her purview involves coordination of interdisciplinary research direction and resource development, and integration of scientific documentation and communication. Her roles include program manager, science writer/editor, research and fiscal coordinator, and administrative officer. Her appointment is on the Sponsored Research Staff of the CGCS in the School of Science.
