Micro-level Decisions
Our project will include a strong focus on understanding what drives energy-related decisions within households and firms, and how these drivers have changed over time. We will represent these trends, when possible, in our models to strengthen our policy analysis capability.
Current and future studies in the Micro-Level Decisions topic area will focus on:
- Comparison of carbon embodied in China’s trade and how this may evolve over time in response to changing consumption patterns in China and other parts of the world.
- Trends in household demand and discounting behavior related to energy-intensive consumer durables: vehicles, purchased transport (aviation and rail), appliances, and housing
- What drives firms to adopt low carbon practices / technologies? Lessons from actions undertaken during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan across energy-intensive industries in China
